Designers such as Prada, Derek Lama and Versace presented in their summer 2010 collections dresses made out of metallic fabrics. So, world famous designers agreed that such dresses will be this summer’s hit.
If you are brave, pick purple or green
Golden and silver still look phenomenal as traditional party colours. But if you are a bit braver, you can pick colours such as metallic purple or green. The dress does not have to be entirely metallic. Normal fabrics with metallic details can also be combined.
No jewellery necessary
Fashion details give a luxury effect, but metallic jewellery has to be avoided in combination with metallic fabric dresses. Perhaps a sophisticated bracelet or earrings can be worn, but it is important that they do not stand out because that is borderline kitsch.
The same goes for make-up. The summer has arrived, so heavy make-up needs to be put away. Everything we need to fulfil the effect is a bit of eye shadow and fruity lip gloss. But if you are the minimalist type, the best is just to put some mascara on the eyelashes and a bit of shimmer on the cheeks.
All this can be supplemented with elegant sandals with heels and a letter-handbag. Perhaps the best choice would be to have the sandals and the handbag in the same colour, but different from the colour of the dress. If you decide to have the sandals, handbag and the dress in the same colour, it could look monotonous and boring.
