Growing Out Damage
Some people find themselves in a situation where they have a lot of damaged hair due to something like a perm. They often ask for advice on how to get rid of the damage without cutting off a lot of hair at one time. If you don't want to cut a lot off at one time you can always do small amounts at different times. Let's say your hair is at 20 inches. Let's say the bottom 1/3 is the worst. That would be about 7 inches. What you can do is maintain that length at 20 inches until you get rid of the major damage and then grow from there. Instead of just going and cutting 7 inches off and being stuck with 13 wait for your hair to get to 21 - 22 inches and trim it back to 20. Then wait for 21 - 22 and trim to 20 again.
If you do that you can remove the damage and not have to do drastic cuts. Meanwhile everytime you cut off those 1 - 2 inches you will have 1-2 inches of brand new hair at your scalp. I call this growing out gracefully. After you get the worst damage removed you can start growing a little longer before trimming. If you do it this way you won't go any shorter than your hair is now. Below is an illustration I made.
Ginger OIl for Damaged Hair
Unfiltered sesame oil may have a darkening affect on your hair but it contains the most nutrients.
- Combine 1 teaspoon grated ginger with 1 cup sesame oil
- Mix thoroughly
- Massage oil into scalp and leave on for 10 minutes
- Repeat weekly as desired.
- If you scale this up to make larger amounts, put the grated ginger into a piece of cheesecloth and squeeze the juice into the oil. The oil will keep longer if it does not contain pieces of ginger. Store in the refrigerator if you plan to keep it for more than a week.
Why ginger root and sesame oil are good for your hair
Sesame oil is a natural sunscreen. Ginger root is a natural anti-inflammatory and has been used for centuries to treat dandruff.
For external use only. If any rash or skin irritation results, discontinue use immediately.
A lot of people are not aware that they are not only required to wear a white skirt during summertime, but also in winter as well. It is actually not that hard to look for the right skirt that you will be able to wear on cold days because all you need to do is to think about some things when you are already shopping.
